Roxanne R. Hambrick
The Hambrick Center has been a goal of Roxanne's for many years. Though her education reflected her skillset, she was determined to acquire the proper experience before jumping right into a practice. Roxanne received her Bachelors of Science from Wayne State University in Psychology and a minor in Political Science. While there she became the Vice President and lifetime member of Psi Chi, a National Honor Society for Psychology. This is where the seed was planted for Biofeedback. Over the next several years Roxanne began to study migraines and gave many presentations and written articles. Here she began to wonder about the affects the body has on the mind. Chosen out of thousands, she was hand picked for a special internship at the University of Iowa for Counseling Psychology and Quantitative Studies. Concluding her Internship Roxanne began her graduate studies at another top university in her field, the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. There she graduated with a degree in Social Work with a concentration in Interpersonal Therapy and a Minor in Community Organization.
Roxanne's experience extends all the way from Michigan where she facilitated evaluations and Crisis Interventions. In her early years of experience she provided supportive individual and family counseling, presented case studies, and conducted Psychosocial Assessments. After becoming a wife and a mom she moved to Houston to continue her work conducting in addiction to counseling. She simultaneously joined a Houston recovery program to counsel stroke victims. Roxanne's greatest work was where she spent many years working with an all women substance abuse unit. There she was able to create amazing programs for individuals and their families, groups, and multi-family groups. While working at this substance abuse center Roxanne was not only considered a counselor, many called her their healer, motivator, and saving grace. Roxanne's most recent endeavors was as an Emergency Psychiatric Clinician.
Today Roxanne can be seen in her state of the art clinic located in The Woodlands Texas. She has combined her years of experience and research to provide Biofeedback, Virtual Reality Therapy, Adventure Therapy and Traditional Counseling. Her approach is a whole body therapy. Using evidence based science practices The Hambrick Center teaches your mind is connected to your entire body. From the food you eat to your environment, the mind is not an isolated organ. It is affected by everything you do. For decades science has only treated mental health through traditional counseling and medicine; And while those methods have their place, the goal of The Hambrick Center is to treat the disease...not the symptoms.
Welcome to a place where we work to see results, not numbers.
